Ramblings begin…Ye have been warned….

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

I usually sit on my bright red sofa with my notebook supported on my knees. Yes, I haven’t recovered from my primary school habits…

How long does it take you to write a book review?

It depends…If it is a book I really loved or really hated, then the review is going to be quite a lengthy one. This means that the actual writing takes about half an hour or so. If we add the time spent on searching additional information, proofreading, designing the blog post, taking photos and the like then I’d say about 3-4 hours extended in two days.

When did you start your book blog?

I started my blog on September 30th of 2017 and my first post was an insane rambling on how much I love Wuthering Heights….

What’s the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

Trying to find a balance between writing about books and writing examples, exercises and additional material for my students. Both are fun though. Not so much for the children but you can’t keep everyone happy, can you?

What’s the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

I will agree with Marina. Meeting people from all over the world who share the same passion and love for books is something magical. There is a mystical connection taking place and when we start knowing each other as people, moving beyond the ”reader” state? It’s a glorious feeling.

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

I honestly can’t answer that. I always feel a sort of twisted, completely inappropriate joy when I write a negative review on books that failed to respect the readers and the story. Moving away from negativity, I’d say that any post that involves searching for information on places, eras and fables is very close to my heart.

What is your favorite type of blog posts to write?

See the answer above. Generally speaking, I am very fond of Magical Realism and Mythology so reviews on books of these genres are always challenging.

When do you typically write?

I am a sworn, unrepentant night owl…

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?

Just sitting and thinking. I may have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate at hand, though. Sadly, I don’t have any pets and I hate Netflix (as I hate TV in general, but that’s another story:) )

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?

I usually write my review a day after finishing the book. More often than not, I have prepared half of it as the book progresses and there are always those rare occasions when the review is finished before I turn the last page. This usually happens with books I  either adored or really loathed. Book margins and the Word app on my tablet are extremely useful.

How often do you post?

That depends. About 3- 4 times a week. It depends on how many books I’ve finished or if a gentle soul has tagged me for wonderful tags like this one:)
